Holiday 2007

I received an art degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and I knew I wanted to be able to make a living doing my artwork. I started batiking a few years ago. It was a slow start with many trials and errors, but I was soon making sellable clothing. I started out with adult clothing and was soon batiking kids clothing of all kinds. There is an outdoor market for artisans where I live in Eugene, Oregon, the Saturday Market, which is the perfect place to sell my clothes. I was married in 2001, and my husband, Gary, became my instant partner. He has experience in retail and loves being out in the public, while I love working at home.
